I will post some photos over the next few days
Here is the damage from our accident.

Alright, after being home for almost a week it's time for the statistics.  On this trip we:
  • traveled 6886 miles
  • burned 499 gallons of gasoline
  • averaged 13.8 miles per gallon
  • bought gasoline 31 times ranging from $3.17/gallon to $4.07/gallon (you can calculate the cost of driving a truck and camper yourself - if you so desire!)
We had a fantastic time and met some wonderful people.  I think we all agree it will be a while until we try a trip like this again (no earlier than next summer ;-) !)

See ya'!

We've made it home! Actually we made it home yesterday, but after parking the trailer, unloading the truck, and starting a load of laundry I was way too tired to blog.  We drove a total of 6886 miles, and that doesn't include our time in Hawaii.  If you want an idea of how far that is, we could have almost traveled to Caracas, Venezuela and back or going one way to Beijing, China.
We were gone for 25 days but taking out 8 days in Hawaii means we averaged over 400 miles a day (no wonder we were tired)!  I haven't calculated the amount of gasoline we used (or how much it cost) or my mpg but I'm sure we weren't very fuel efficient.  The good news is we are home safe and sound.  We saw a lot of great things, some of which I will try to share with you in photos over the next few days.

Today was a long day.  We drove from Cheyenne Wyoming to Independence Missouri and arrived at our hotel (yes hotel) at 9:30 PM. We have 2 queen beds one of which I am about to use.  Nashville tomorrow. Goodnight!
